What to Expect
Did You Know…
Salt has natural anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and antihistamine properties so it is effective in detoxifying the body, strengthening the immune system and relieving the symptoms of a wide range of conditions. In addition to this the salt particles create a powerful negative ion environment which can lift mood, strengthen the immune system and encourage a state of recovery and general wellness which is beneficial for everyone. It is important to understand that salt therapy is not an alternative therapy but a complementary one. It is designed to promote general wellness for healthy people and to provide relief from symptoms of certain respiratory and skin conditions in conjunction with existing medications.
During sessions our halogenerator grinds pharmaceutical grade salt to a fine dust that is dispersed into the room for you to inhale. The salt room is designed for relaxation so you will want to sit back in our zero-gravity chair or sit on our comfy floor cushions and breathe deeply. Light soothing music will play in the background. The doors to the salt room will close and remain closed during the session for the guest experience and also to make sure salt particles do not leave the room. If a guest arrives late we are not able to open the doors to the salt room to allow them in.
What should you wear to your salt session?
You will want to wear comfortable clothing to your salt session. Please note that darker colored clothing may show salt, but it can easily be brushed off and will not harm your clothing. While we have fresh blankets for sessions, some people prefer to bring their own blanket as the room can get cool.
Guests have the option of either walking in barefoot or bringing clean socks to wear. Due to the purity of the salt, shoes cannot be worn in the room. Don’t worry if you forgot your socks, we have socks available for sale ($2).
Skin Conditions
If coming in for a skin condition, you will want to try to expose this area as much as possible.
Appointments
We encourage you to make an appointment, but walk-ins are welcome if there is available space. Please arrive at least 10 minutes early to use the restroom and prepare. Once the session starts, it will not be interrupted. For regular Halotherapy Sessions not cancelled within 4 hours of appointment time we cannot guarantee a credit. For private room salt therapy bookings, events, or classes, there is a 48-hour cancellation notice required for full refund.
Actively Sick?
It is a common misconception that the time to try salt therapy is while you are actively sick. However, the best time to seek salt therapy is when you are healthy and using salt therapy for chronic illness or preventative treatment.
If you suspect that either you or your child are actively sick (or running a fever), please call to reschedule the appointment. Our ongoing goal is to maintain an environment of health and wellness. Once you or your child have been fever free for at least 24 hours you can schedule a new time for your appointment.
What should expect to happen during my treatment?
Regular Salt sessions last 35 minutes and is in a room that is surrounded with Himalayan salt rock covering the ground. There is also soothing music playing for extra relaxing & meditative moments. During a session it is best to close your eyes and take deep cleansing breaths. Himalayan salt crystals provide negative ions that enhance the salt therapy experience.
Will I be alone for my treatment?
Our community salt rooms can accommodate up to 4 people at a time. So each community session can have anywhere from one to four people. Private rented sessions can accommodate up to 6 people with 4 XL Zero Gravity Chairs, and multiple floor pillows.
Please contact us to book the salt room for a private event.

Side Effects
Halotherapy is 100% natural, drug free, and safe. Post session some people have experienced a runny nose, slight cough, or chest tightness. This is usually due to mucus and toxins becoming dislodged in the body and working out of the body.
Smoking & Perfumes
We ask that anyone who is a smoker to please refrain from smoking prior to entering in the salt room. If you smell of smoke, you may be asked to reschedule. Relax Salt Studio is a smoke-free environment. The main reason we do not allow guests actively smelling of smoke is for our clients who have respiratory issues, like Asthma, COPD, or Cystic Fibrosis.
